KWANDEBELE’S NUMBER ONE ONLINE RADIO
STATION FLARE FM MOURNS THE PASSING OF MR DAVID MALATSI
The new kid on the block Flare FM online radio station that aspires to become one of the greats in Mpumalanga province as the established KwaNdebele’s number one music station joins the multitudes of our country in mourning with the Malatsi family, the broadcasting, political and business sectors on the untimely passing of Mr David Micky Malatsi, a former Member of the Sub Council of the Transitional Executive Council (TEC); Member of Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature and Parliament of the Republic of South Africa in the Senate (currently NCOP) from 1994 to 1999; Minister of Social Services and Poverty alleviation and Minister of Environmental Affairs and Development planning in the Western Cape provincial government from 2000 to 2002 as well as Deputy Minister of social Development from 2002 to 2003.
Mr David Malatsi, the first Mayor of Ekangala; the first man to ever open the microphone when the then Radio Ndebele currently Ikwekwezi FM hit the airwaves in 1983, and went on to establish Kangala Community Radio Station in 1995 a community station that established itself as a feeder to the isiNdebele medium SABC public broadcasting station Ikwekwezi FM. Mr Malatsi heeded the call of the Most High on Friday, 14 August 2020 after a short illness. Some of the newsreaders both on SABC radio and television and some of the radio show anchors on ikwekwezi FM are a living testimony of skills and talent produced by KCRS FM under the stewardship of the late Mr David Malatsi well known to some of them as “Boss aka Indoda engaziwa”. as he was known by his listeners.
The name Micky Malatsi ka Sibanyoni Umsanekhethu will forever resonate with those who used to listen to Radio Ndebele back then. The family of the newly formed Flare FM , Itjhisa Bhe , KwaNdebele’s number 1, a online radio station would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to Mrs Malatsi and the entire family, the KCRS FM staff and listeners. Please do find solace in the Holy Scriptures and make God your refuge during this trying times. Mr Malatsi shall always be remembered for being supportive and inspiring a lot of confidence, courage and his passion for community development.
